Hi, I'm Sonya. I am one half of this blog. I'm a mommy to a blessing, I have one son who is my world, my love, pride, and joy. I am also a wife and bonus mother to four beautiful young ladies and an awesome grandson. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI, traveled the USA, living here and there, experimenting with life.
I'm a cradle Catholic. If you asked my church home, I would have to claim Heart of the Nation. It's mass that I watch weekly on YouTube. I love the mass, feel connected and always feel uplifted when it goes off. I seem to understand better (not to mention I love knowing I can rewind to hear the message numerous times to really let it "soak" in.
I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and The Order of Eastern Star. I believe in their principles and always work to carry myself in a way that neither organization will be ashamed to claim me as a member. I am truly "my sister's keeper".
If you asked me to describe myself in one word, I'd say "complex". I am an event planner, amateur photographer, and designer. I dabble with catering, sewing...actually I believe I can do anything. My grandmother Ruby was skilled and talented and that was passed to my mom which made its way to me. You will rarely hear me say, "I can't" or "I quit" because I truly believe I can.
